4.) The Great Indoors (CBS)
Premiere: Oct. 27, 7:30 CT
Plot: An adventure reporter must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine for which he writes.
Why we’re excited: Two words: Joel McHale. We’re eager to see how he fares outside Community. Although the concept could produce standard sitcom material, workplace comedies about generation gaps can be funny, especially if you’re part of one in real life and want to laugh at a familiar situation.
3.) No Tomorrow (The CW)
Premiere: Oct. 4, 8:00 CT,
Plot: A one-hour drama about a risk-averse quality-control assessor who falls for free-spirited thrill seeker only to find out he lives his life that way because he believes the apocalypse is coming.
Why we’re excited: Starring Tori Anderson and Joshua Sasse, this sounds like a different take on an impending apocalypse without zombies. One of the writers/producers is Corrinne Brinkerhoff, fresh off The Good Wife, so we look forward to a show that might help fill the vacuum that it leaves in the schedule.
