I think it’s a safe assumption that the long running shoe, The Walking Dead, is on its last leg. Between important character deaths, lackluster episodes and front runners leaving the show, the death rattle is strong with this one. Yet the show keeps chugging forward with a new producer, a time jump and Daryl Dixon as the main protagonist. With the release of the new season 9 poster, the show has us scratching our heads.

Just take a look at it…

There are so many what the f*&$s in there, I lost count. Old man Rick, D.C., a helicopter. What does this all mean? I literally have no idea. We left season 8 with angry and vengeful Maggie (and we still don’t know where Lauren Cohan stands in terms of renewing her contract past season 9), open-necked Negan, peace among the groups and unsure future. After the news of Andrew Lincoln leaving the show for new and different avenues, Norman Reedus is taking over as the lead. But what direction will his story take?

One of the biggest questions: Who is in that helicopter?? Since it’s a featured image on the poster, it looks like we will be receiving our answer as well as seeing new locations. With images of a dead and decaying Washington D.C., it looks like we will have a new adventure on our hands. And it’s anyone’s guess about how Rick will leave the show but we know he will only be there for half of season 9. And supposedly we’ll only see Maggie in part of the season as well. And with the return of Shane, the producers are throwing all the stops at us.
