It appears as though we haven’t seen the last of Frank Castle just quite yet. Marvel’s The Punisher will be returning to Netflix on January 18th, according to a now-deleted tweet. Fortunately for us, deleting a tweet in this day and age is about as effective as someone ‘green-lighting’ Frank Castle in prison (see Daredevil Season 2, Episode 9 entitled “Seven Minutes in Heaven”).

Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Baby Driver) will reprise the role of Frank Castle, a former soldier that we were introduced in Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil. He’s no hero, he’s no villain… he’s simply Frank Castle.

While the trailer for Season 2 of Marvel’s The Punisher forgoes the blood and bullets of the previous season, it shows us an obvious Frank Castle setting a Presidential Pardon ablaze, only to leave a perfectly rendered Punisher skull in the ash left behind.

From pieced together information from various sources strewn about the internet regarding the new season, Frank Castle is apparently going to battle against what has been described as an Alt-Right Christian fundamentalist; story seems very timely given the current political climate.

While this very well could be the last Netflix hurrah for Frank Castle – as we have already seen the cancellations of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Marvel’s Daredevil – fans will no doubt be treated to a level of brutality that only Bernthal has been able to bring to life thus far. If Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil packs even half the punch the first did, we are all in for one helluva ride!

One batch, two batch…
