Phoenix portrays a traumatized veteran, unafraid of violence, tracks down missing girls for a living. When a job spins out of control, Joe’s nightmares overtake him as a conspiracy is uncovered leading to what may be his death trip or his awakening.
YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE premiered at the 70th Cannes Film Festival in competition, where Lynne Ramsay won the Best Screenplay award and Joaquin Phoenix won the award for Best Actor.
This looks like a fantastic powerful film with potential to collect even more awards.
YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE also stars Judith Roberts, Ekaterina Samsonov, John Doman, Alex Manette, Dante Pereira-Olsen, and Alessandro Nivola.
Unfortunately the film is only getting a limited release in select theaters April 6, 2018.
