#19. Galaga
A pattern recognition game worth the time and effort. And when you get those ships together, you can do some serious damage. Those enemies also speed up like crazy, so you really have to be on your game.
I’ll definitely be playing this!
#18. Ghosts N Goblins
This one is hard AF, but that’s why I love it. It’s everything I wanted Castlevania to be, and so much more. Meaning goblins. This game has awesome goblins.
I also like the graphics and music a lot more than Castlevania. So there.
#17. Gradius
This is the best side-scrolling plane game featured on the mini NES. That’s because it’s the ONLY side-scrolling plane game featured on the mini NES.
Still, it’s really fun and whenever I’m able to get an upgrade and switch weapons, it brings a nostalgic smile to my face.
#16. Ice Climber
“Wait… Ice Climber is higher than all of those other classic games? Have you lost your fucking mind, Tim?”
Probably. This is a pretty simple game, but it predates those awesome Metroid levels where Samus is constantly jumping up, up, up, and it’s actually a lot of fun.
To me. You might hate it.
You’ll have 29 other games to play.
Leave me alone.
#15. Kid Icarus
For 1986, the graphics on Kid Icarus were AMAZING. Like “How in the fuck did they do that?” kind of amazing.
And while the gameplay is pretty straight forward, who doesn’t love killing things and collecting their hearts?
I’ll tell you who… SEGA Genesis fans.
