HBO Gives Us a Behind-the-Scenes Look Into the Nightmares of ‘Westworld’

What happens when Anthony Hopkins creates a massive western theme park where all of your dreams and nightmares come to live before your eyes? Probably something F’d up! HBO’s new science fiction / western ‘Westworld’ explores just that. Here is to hoping there is a cannibal scene and a tip of the hat to Hannibal. With the premiere creeping up ever so close the fine folks at HBO have given us a behind the scenes look at the wonderful immersive world that awaits us.

Creators and showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy discuss what the show aims to be. Nolan said it’s a “classic, full-boat western meets a science-fiction film.” It’s more than that, too. “What happens to a place where you live without limits, supposedly consequence-free?” he asks.

“When you open it up, there are these great emotional questions, talking about our deepest fears, our greatest passions, and how we behave when those are challenged,” executive producer JJ Abrams said.

Lead actress Evan Rachel Wood, who plays Dolores, said Westworld is supposed to “challenge your views of what’s right and what’s wrong.” Challenge accepted!

Westworld debuts October 2nd at 9:00 PM on HBO.
