First Look at Bryan Cranston in the New “Power Rangers” Film

Lionsgate

Power Rangers (billed as Saban’s Power Rangers) just released a new trailer that calls back to the Power Rangers of old in an all out battle with (CGI) rock monsters. It’s also our first look as Brian Cranston taking on the role of Zordon and an extended look at Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa. Billed as a more adult take on the franchise, the reboot is being directed by Dean Israelite and written by John Gatins, Kieran Mulroney, Michele Mulroney, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The worst part about the entire trailer? Kayne West song. Anything involving Kayne is the worst part of things. #HotTake

It is the third film based on the Power Rangers property, and serves as a reboot and re-imagining of the franchise. It also marks the first Power Ranger film in the 21st Century. The film features most of the main characters of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers portrayed by a new cast. Franchise creator Haim Saban returned to produce the film under his private equity investment firm.

Morphing into theaters in March 2017.
