BBC has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ spinoff, ‘Class’. Said to be written for a teen audience the story takes place in Coal Hill School for Children.
‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Stephen Moffat, who will executive produce the new show, added: “No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we’re bringing his brilliant storytelling into ‘Doctor Who’. This is growing up in modern Britain–but with monsters!”
Peter Capaldi’s Doctor delivers a chilling line as footage of the new series plays. He says, “I can travel through time and I can travel through space, but I won’t always be there when you need me. Sometimes, you have to take survival upon yourselves. What will you do when the shadows come? When you can’t turn away from the darkness ahead. Time has looked at your faces–and time never forgets.”
The new spinoff will consist of eight 45-minute episodes. The show was scheduled to premiere in 2016, but it is now due in 2017. It is ‘Doctor Who’s’ third spinoff, following ‘Torchwood’ and the children’s show ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’, both of which ran until 2011.
