All Playstation users are familiar with the Playstation Store. It’s a magical place of game store avoidance and special deals. I used to solely go to game stores to get my games but have gotten accustomed to avoiding the drive, the strange smells at the stores that never go away, and the irritable parents that just want to get out of there. And the PS store gives you yet another incentive: for all PS Plus members, they offer a few free games every month. March is going to be a doozy because, according to Kotaku, Bloodborne will be added to that list.
Bloodborne was released in 2015 by FromSoftware and Sony Computer Entertainment as a Playstation 4 exclusive. This third-person RPG comes from the same mind as Dark Souls and comes with the same feel and difficulty with a darker atmosphere. You play as the Hunter that awakes in Yharnam where its residents are suffering from a blood-borne illness. Your job is to find and destroy the source of the illness.
Like Dark Souls, Bloodborne is notorious for its level of difficulty. It’s a dark, brooding and gorgeous game that takes thinking and planning to get through; no running with guns blazing in this one. When I saw that it will be free for PS Plus members, I about lost my mind. While many times the free games will be an indie title you may never have heard of, sometimes you hit the gold mine. At the end of 2017, they put Hitman on that list and Life is Strange was added on there last fall.
You have around four weeks to add the game to your library to download any time before it is replaced by the next month’s game. While Playstation is making changes to how they do their free lineup (meaning now there will only be two free PS4 games available each month), they will still be offering some big titles. Alongside Bloodborne in March will be Ratchet & Clank. Go and get those dualshocks ready to save Yharnam.
