Stallone Hints at Drago’s Return in ‘Creed’ Sequel

Sylvester Stallone has long teased Rocky lovers with the idea that the Siberian Bull, Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), could return to the franchise. The immense success of Ryan Coogler‘s Creed in 2015 made it all but a given that a sequel would follow closely behind. Now to quote the infamous George Washington Duke, “Time to put some hustle behind this muscle!”

Creed followed the street fight beginnings of Adonis Johnson, Apollo Creed’s son born of an affair, and his obstacles of not only having to navigate life but to do so with an infamous family lineage. Adonis searches out his late father’s largest rival and closest friend, the ailing Rocky Balboa, in efforts to learn more of his past and discover his true boxing potential.

It only makes sense to bring back arguably the most hated character in the entire franchise. Michael B. Jordan, who portrays Adonis Johnson, has long been a proponent of needing an “actual villain in the movie.”

Through his vast social media presence, Stallone has long teased the idea of weaving the stories together but now more than ever, we seem to be getting a glimpse of what Sly had in mind all along.

Let us know what you think in the comments! Will the son seek revenge for the hubris of his father? Will we see another Creed fall victim to Death from Above?
