Way back in December we brought you the first trailer for the latest Shaun The Sheep movie, Farmageddon. It was a cute little sneak peek at what Aardman Animations (Wallace & Gromit) had up their sleeve. Now today, we have another trailer for the film, but this time with aliens! Could anything be cuter than that? Take a look and see for yourself. Be warned though, it may slap a smile on your face that’s rather permanent.
This looks ten shades of delightful. Yet, to be honest that’s exactly what you’d hope for, from the studio who put out Chicken Run, The Pirates! Band of Misfits and Flushed Away. Aardman has always dealt with a very particular form of magic, specially in the realm of stop-motion and its on full display above. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the charm is absolutely infectious. It looks like the regular level of shenanigans will occur in Farmageddon, and trust me, that’s a good thing.
Here’s the official synopsis, should you be too delighted by the above, to make sense of things:
“When the intergalactic visitor – an impish and adorable alien called LU-LA – crash-lands near Mossy Bottom Farm, Shaun soon sees an opportunity for alien-powered fun and adventure and sets off on a mission to shepherd LU-LA home. Her magical alien powers, irrepressible mischief and galactic sized burps soon have the flock enchanted. Shaun takes his new extra-terrestrial friend on the road to Mossingham Forest to find her lost spaceship, unaware that a sinister alien-hunting agency is on their trail. Can Shaun and the flock avert Farmageddon on Mossy Bottom Farm before it’s too late?”
What did you think of the trailer? Are you won over by the silly antics of the lambs and the alien? Have you seen any of the other Aardman films before? Make sure to let us know your favorite, down in the comments. With something as cute and effervescent as this movie appears to be, there has to be some drawback. It’s the law of averages. Thankfully that just limited to the release date. While UK audiences get the movie in October, people in the US have to wait until December 13, 2019. To help tide you all over until Farmageddon hits theaters, here’s a colorful poster. This is going to be worth the wait.
