If you weren’t already aware, the annual San Diego Comic Con is about to get into full full swing. While there are a few big studios who are sitting the event out, there is a major company still partaking in the shindig: Marvel. There’s been a lot of info and teasing recently on what exactly they’ll bring with them. Since Spider-Man: Far From Home brought Phase 3 to a close. Naturally, the belief is that the next line-up of fresh new films would get the spotlight. Those being Black Widow, Shang-Chi and The Eternals. The latter is the focus today, as there’s been an interesting development. Right under everyone’s noses.

The latest addition to the ever-expanding mega cast? Why it’s none other than Millie Bobby Brown! Who just so happens to be having a hell of a Summer with Godzilla: King of the Monsters in theaters and Stranger Things‘ 3rd season just landing on Netflix. The thing is, the way everyone is finding out isn’t exactly how you’d picture. You see Variety ran a long piece running down everything that Marvel could potentially trot out to Hall H. Eventually they come to The Eternals and, well, take a look at this bit.

“Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is expected to unveil brand-new franchise starters at the convention in late July. Chief among them is “The Eternals,” a series about godlike alien beings to be adapted by indie director Chloé Zhao (“The Rider”), which has widely been reported to star Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Madden, as well as “Stranger Things” lead Millie Bobby Brown.”

There’s an implied casualness to the last line that seems odd. As if it’s info we should all know by now. Or maybe there was an announcement that was supposed to go out, before this piece and somehow got scrapped. Either way, the news is out there. It’s etched in stone. It’s fact. Eternal, even (we had to). And yet… The weirdest element to The Eternals casting reveals, is that they’ve been anything but normal. The majority of names, when they were trotted out, came with the caveut of just being “in talks” or “negotiations”. After everything that happened after the 1st round of “Pattinson is Batman” news, take this with a grain of salt. Could turn out to be nothing. Could be everything. At the end of the day though, it just gives another reason to check out whatever Marvel has going on in Hall H, next week.

Should any more news on this front brake soon, we’ll update you.
