When Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle grossed just under a billion dollars worldwide in 2017, you knew a sequel was coming. The only question was, where do you go from here? Naturally, the people behind the film could do anything and everything. It would appear, based on this trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level, they’re throwing all caution to the wind. Hoping to deliver something that’s bigger and far more insane than what came before. Just see for yourself.

Here’s the official synopsis, in case you can’t view the footage above:

“In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.”

Now, there’s no way to know how badly you needed something in your life, until you actually see it. Dwayne Johnson channeling his inner Danny DeVito, is one of those things. If that were the full movie, I think we could safely say this would be the greatest film of all time. Since there’s other elements at play, that remains to be seen. Switching up several of the characters, and adding Danny Glover into the mix too, is sure to bring more people to the theater who may have skipped the first one. Heck, it might even warm the hearts of certain critics who weren’t big fans of the previous film (*slowly raises hand*).  Regardless which way you slice it, this looks like a lot of fun.

What do you think of the trailer, fellow adventurers? Did you love Welcome to the Jungle? Are DeVito and Glover big draws to you? Who do you think Awkwafina is playing in the film? Be sure to share your thoughts in the space below. We’re curious to see what returning director Jake Kasdan and screenwriters Jeff Pinker & Scott Rosenberg have cooked up for everyone, when Jumanji: The Next Level boots up in theaters, on December 13, 2019.
