Donald Glover’s ‘Atlanta’ Set For September Debut on FX

I am a fan of Donald Glover’s stand-up and his alter ego Childish Gambino. So it’s about time he got his own TV show. Created by and starring Glover, the 10-episode Atlanta focuses on two cousins with opposing views, Earn (Glover) and Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry), as they climb the ladder of the city’s hip-hop scene.

Rounding out the cast are Lakeith Lee Stanfield (Dope) as Alfred’s right-hand man Darius, plus Zazie Beetz (Applesauce) as Van, who is caught up in a complicated relationship with Earn.

“Atlanta draws on Donald’s considerable talents as a musician, actor, and writer to give us something unique,” Nick Grad, FX’s president of original programming, said in a previous statement.

Watch the Atlanta teaser promo TV spot below. The series is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2016.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
Starring and created by Donald Glover, Atlanta revolves around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy.
