Director Bayona Confirms Jurassic World will be a Trilogy

It was rumored last year that Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World was going to be a trilogy and dino fans rejoiced! Recently director Juan Antonio Bayona confirmed the shooting of the second film that will eventually lead into a third. Jurassic World became the fourth biggest film of all time which only meant that fans are serious and excited about their dinosaurs.

LRM Online reported that at the Toronto Film Festival Bayona revealed that he would be shooting the second part of the trilogy, Trevoroow had envisioned Jurassic World as a trilogy and Bayone said he was very excited in the direction he was taking the film.

Last year Trevorrow talked to the Jurassic Cast Podcast and gave fans some hints to what to expect. Saying first that, “this was going to get to be a different film.” Also adding, “The audience has given us permission to a certain extent to take this to the next level, and I don’t necessarily mean in scale, I feel very strongly that it’s not about more dinosaurs or bigger and better dinosaurs, it’s about using this as a starting point for a much larger story about our relationship with these animals. Jurassic World was very much made with the fans in mind, and I’m not going to forget it, but now we’ve seen a lot of ‘dinosaurs chasing people around on an island’ movies. I think you guys and also the general audience is going to be down to explore where else we can go.”

We can’t wait to see what’s in store. More of the Jurassic Park universe is always a good thing and judging by the fans reaction to Jurassic World I think we are all going to be in for a wild ride that we are all going to love!

Jurassic World 2 is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2018.
