Daniel Radcliffe Playing Harry Potter Again? He Says It Could Happen!

To be clear, Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t have immediate plans to return to resume the mantle of the Order of the Phoenix. But based on the recent successes of a certain septuagenarian actor, he’s willing to entertain the possibility. In an interview with RadioTimes Radcliffe said the following:

“It would depend on the script. The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”

Given the continued interest and life in the Harry Potter franchise, many fans will undoubtedly be hoping he has reason to backtrack sooner rather than later. In the meantime, how about that theatrical production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, currently playing on the London stage? Does Radcliffe have feelings on that?

Well, it turns out that he hasn’t seen it. But not because he doesn’t want to. He explained his reticence to Stephen Colbert:

“I feel like I want to see the show. I am genuinely intrigued and I’ve heard it’s fantastic. But I just feel sitting in an audience of what will, for most of the near future, be very enthusiastic ‘Harry Potter’ fans might be like not a relaxing way to see a show.”

The last movie chronicling Harry’s adventures came out in 2011. But interest in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World continues to run strong. With the Pottermore website continuing to add fresh content and the non-Harry-centric film Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them looming on the horizon there are still plenty of adventures for fans to have. But for many, it just won’t feel like the world of Harry Potter without Harry himself. With Daniel Radcliffe admitting that the possibility of Harry’s return is there, it should continue to fuel interest in the beloved franchise for quite a while to come.
