Are your ready for a new Kevin Smith film? Have you been longing a return to his View Askewniverse? If so, then you’re in luck, as today the red band trailer for his upcoming Jay And Silent Bob Reboot dropped. Featuring all the hallmarks you’d come to expect from a Smith directed film. See for yourself.

As is always the case, we’re going to provide you with an official synopsis here, just to prove we care:

“The stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in CLERKS are back! When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again!”

Regardless of how you might feel about the tone of the trailer there’s something reassuring about Smith returning to his roots. He found a lot of success with these characters, so going back to the well makes sense. Specially after where his career and personal life has been the past few years. Jay And Silent Bob Reboot appears to be everything fans could want. Filled with a boatload of cameos. I mean, who isn’t going to chuckle at the site of Melissa Benoist and Val Kilmer as the latest iterations of Bluntman & Chronic?

What did you make of the trailer? Is a new stoner comedy something you need in your life? Have you revisited any of Smith’s earlier films recently? The comments are open for your thoughts and musings. As for the film’s release, Smith is looking to one up Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell.. While the film looks to be getting some kind of theatrical release, Smith and Jason Mewes are looking to take the film on the road. They’ll be stopping in various cities to show the movie and do a Q&A after. Should that be up your alley, check out this site, here. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot hits over 600 theaters, through Fathom Events, on October 15.
