Amazon’s pilot season is nearly upon us, and one of the new shows soon to premiere is a reboot of the classic & ridiculous blue superhero series, The Tick.
The Tick will star Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the main character, and you can take your first look at Peter in costume the image below.
The series will also star Jackie Earl Haley (Watchmen), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), and Valorie Curry (House of Lies).
The pilot was co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and the official synopsis via Amazon reads: “In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.”
The Tick originated as a comic book in the late ’80s before becoming an animated series in 1994. It later became a live-action show starring Patrick Warburton (Family Guy) as the Tick.
The Tick will debut on August 19, alongside both I Love Dick starring Kevin Bacon and Jean-Claude Van Johnson starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
