20th Century Fox has released a new trailer and poster for AD ASTRA. When I watched the new trailer one thing occurred to me during some scenes – the visual approach to the film, at times, feels like something Stanley Kubrick might have created. It takes us back to ‘2001: A Space Odyssey.’

But the film is much different as astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

The film was directed by James GrayAD ASTRA stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland.

Ad Astra blast into theaters September 20, 2019.
