Stephen King and J.J. Abrams Team Up to Tease “Castle Rock”

Hulu

On February 17th 2017 Stephen King took to Twitter to make the following announcement:

Accompanying this cryptic warning was a teaser trailer full of snaking lines connecting ominous names that should need no introduction to fans of the renowned horror novelist: Danny Torrance, Annie Wilkes, the dreaded Pennywise, and others. The lines, so reminiscent of bloody arteries and connective tissue, converge upon the infamous fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine – a setting that has played host to many of King’s most famous stories. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company got in on the fun with their own cryptic Tweet that posed the question, “What is the hoax in the forest?”

Details on this tantalizing team-up are few at the moment, but The Hollywood Reporter states that Castle Rock will be a anthology series following the adventures of various characters drawn from King’s works, possibly with each season following different characters through their own storylines. Given the wealth of iconic characters, locales, and stories that roll by in the trailer, such a series could be a King fan’s dream indeed. Not that King fans don’t already have much to look forward to in that regard with the July 2017 film release of The Dark Tower which similarly unites many of King’s characters and works.

Castle Rock is set to air on Hulu, the streaming video service that previously teamed with King and Abrams for the miniseries adaptation of King’s novel 11/22/63. Until more details become available, enjoy the teaser trailer in all its creepy glory right here:
