Netflix Original “The Discovery” Raises the Question of Life After Death

Netflix

It’s been a mystery to man for years. Does the afterlife actually exist and if so what form do we take on? Re-incarnation? Spirits that wander the earth? Do we start over in a parallel universe? Maybe we travel to the Upside Down!? Yikes. The new Netflix original “The Discovery” tackles this subject head and gives us a peek inside the lives of those who have passed on and learn about each others experiences. The series stars Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, Jesse Plemons, Riley Keough and Robert Redford.

The trailer features Roy Orbison‘s “Only the Lonely” which provides a chilling sound track when you apply The Discovery’s themes to the lyrics.

“There goes my baby, there goes my heart. Their gone forever, so far apart…Only the lonely.” The last words uttered from Segel cap off an interesting trailer “People are just going to keep killing themselves.” Check it out for yourself below along with the official synopsis from Netflix.

SYNOPSIS:
One year after the existence of the afterlife is scientifically verified, millions around the world have ended their own lives in order to “get there”. A man and woman fall in love while coming to terms with their own tragic pasts and the true nature of the afterlife.
