The long anticipated Friday the 13th game just released a new trailer and it is brutal. Jason is on a killing spree with pitchforks, fire and sheer brute strength. Gun Media and Sean Cunningham said they weren’t going to hold anything back and the fans would be in for a real treat – so far they haven’t disappointed.
The game was originally called ‘Summer Camp’ but ran into some issues when the villain resembled Jason Voorhees just a little to much. After a few months the indie horror project teamed up with the creators of Friday the 13th and reached an agreement to work together and bring us what appears to be one of the most intense horror games of all-time.
It’s a multiplayer game where one person plays as Jason, while the others take on the role of campers. Some of the archetypes for characters include “the girl next door” and “the jock,” among others. Dibs on Jason!
Friday the 13th: The Game is tentatively scheduled to launch in October 2016 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Just in time for Halloween. If Gun Media has success with this franchise I would LOVE to see them take on Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street.
