New Line Cinema kicked off San Diego Comic-Con with a loud bang last night that included several announcements including teasing some new footage from Andy Muschietti’s ‘It: Chapter Two.’

The footage has not been released to the public just yet and there is a chance it may not see the light of day making it exclusive to those in attendance.

The sequel picks up where the original left off 27 years later. Chapter Two brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.  Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise.

The clip that was shown during the ScareDiego event on Wednesday night focused on the grown up versions of the Derry children. Keeping to the blood oath they made at the end of the first film the group reunites at a Chinese restaurant in Derry. Bill Hader will be taking on the role of an adult Richie Tozier (Finn Wolfhard.) If you have been watching his HBO show Barry then you know Hader knows how to balance comedy and dark situations which should help with this role. During the clip Hader tried to break the tension surrounding the group by saying, “So, what do you guys want to talk about?”

Fans loved seeing a sneak peek at the adult Derry cast…

Director Andy Muschietti said that ‘IT:Chapter Two’, “It’s going to be scarier. It’s going to be more intense, so bring your adult diapers.” So I guess adult version of the kids = adult diapers. Got it!

Rounding out the cast is James McAvoy as Bill, Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader  as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Jay Ryan as Ben, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stanley.

Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.

Set to open in theaters September 6, 2019, “IT CHAPTER TWO” is a New Line Cinema production.
