Zac Efron Will Portray Ted Bundy in ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’

Zac Efron announced his attachment to a new project and it’s a bit out of character, a killer.

He will be playing the notoriously good looking serial killer, Ted Bundy in EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE. Oscar nominated filmmaker Joe Berlinger will be behind the camera.

The script was penned by Michael Werwie and will be from the perspective of Ted Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer – who eventually turned him into the police.

In the 1970s, Bundy raped and murdered young women in several states. He was connected to at least 36 murders, but some thought he had committed one hundred or more.

We haven’t seen Efron take on a role quite this dark before. Usually known for romcom’s and comedies this will be new territory for the heart throb actor. Joining the likes of Leonardo DiCarpio who will be playing notorious serial killer H.H. Holmes in THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY which is currently in development.

True crime is a hot topic amongst movie fans, documentary lovers and pocast subscribers. So it’s only natural we are starting to see higher profile actors sign on for projects like these that prove to capture the minds of their fans.

More on both these films as details become available.
