Following the season two finale of Rick and Morty, viewers were left in dismay as Mr. Poopybutthole told us all that fans would have to wait until 2017 for the third season of everyone’s favorite oblivious grandson and alcoholic grandfather combo.
Rest easy though because the show’s co-creator Dan Harmon addressed a panel at Magic City Con and assured audiences that we would indeed be seeing Rick and Morty in the near future. No sooner was his statement made that the audience broke into cheers and relieved excitement. Even more exciting than the news of not having to wait a calendar year for their hilarious return, fans will be treated to a season with 14 episodes, as opposed to the previous two seasons which contained 11 and 10, respectively.
While none of the content of season 3 was shared at the Con, it will more than likely hysterically resolve season two’s finale plot which finally found Rick’s intergalactic transgressions catch up to him in the form of prison time. There has been no timeline as to when Season 3 is set to begin but viewers will no doubt be treated to fantastically witty animated sci-fi and crude hilarity.
