When artist Miguel Vazquez set out to create your favorite childhood cartoon Spongebob as a real life person you probably didn’t think much of it. When you see the results they might fuel your nightmares.
But this isn’t the first time an artist has tried to create cartoon characters as human beings. In 2012 Kevin Kirkpatrick recreated MTV icons Beavis and Butthead in the flesh. The bust were on display at Copro Gallery and ended up selling for $14,000. While it is shocking to see them come to life in IRL instead of animation the leap isn’t that far fetched.
But what happens when you take an abnormal cartoon character and try to humanize them. That is exactly what Miguel Vazquez did with SpongeBob Squarepants and his buddy Patrick. Instead of trying to manipulate the characters into something that might fit the mold of what a humanized version look like he went into full on bonkers mode!
Look at the photo. Think of their voices. Now imagine them standing in your living room. Sweet Dreams.
