As Jacobim Mugatu might be inclined to say “it’s that damn Spider-man. He’s so hot right now!” No one would disagree. The live-action counterpart brought people to tears earlier this year in Infinity War. Just weeks ago the Spider-man game hit shelves and has been garnering a lot of acclaim. In case you thought things on the spider front were slowing down, think again, as today a new trailer for the animated feature, Into The Spider-Verse, hit the web (pun very much intended). Take a peek.

Now there’s likely some who may still take issue with the animation on display. Not us. This looks beautiful. The fluid movements look big and grand. Then, of course, there’s the multiverse spanning story. Everyone you could hope to show up in this, is featured here. Spider Noir! Peni Parker! Spider-Ham (Peter Porker to his friends)! Oh, and last but not least….Spider-Gwen! Did we mention Spider-Gwen? Because Spider-Gwen is in this! Not familiar with her? Well get on that, you’re behind the times, at least by internet standards.

When the licensing split between Marvel and Sony initially came down, most weren’t sure what the divide was going to be. The MCU was obviously going to be the bread and butter, but there wasn’t really an indication as to what films Sony would be investing in. If this is any indication of the direction they want to go as a whole, nobody’s gonna complain. This looks big, colorful and just oodles of fun. How it shakes out, we can’t really know, but this feels like it’s gonna bring in all the money.

Into The Spider-Verse is also packed to the gills when it comes to vocal talent. Outside of Shameik Moore in main role of Miles Morales, there’s Jack Johnson, Nicolas Cage, Lily Tomlin, John Mulaney, Liev Schreiber, Hailee Steinfeld (deep breath) Mahershala Ali, Kimiko Glenn and Brian Tyree Henry. There’s basically someone in that diverse line-up that everyone loves.

What do you think, dear reader? Are you a fan of Into The Spider-Verse’s style? Pleased that another Spider-Man film is right around the corner? Do you have a favorite Spider-person and if so, why would you choose anyone other than Spider-Gwen? Let us know in the comments below. We’ll find out how good the film actually is, when it swings into theaters on December 14th. Until then, enjoy the official poster, right here.
