Capitalizing on the long-standing popularity of Sons of Anarchy, FX has green-lit a 10-episode order for its spinoff entitled ‘Mayans MC.’
The newest show focusing on the motorcycle club culture, JD Pardo stars as EZ Reyes, a Mayan MC prospect recently released from prison looking to carve his spot in his newly minted free life.
Created by Kurt Sutter, writer of The Shield and 2015’s Southpaw, the story of the Mayans MC is set in the post-Jax Teller world.
The potential to see old faces is there but the new iteration looks to infuse new blood into the mythos surrounding the world Sutter built in SOA. Alongside Pardo will be Hollywood heavyweight Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta.
We can only hope the Emilio Rivera resurrects his epically cool Marcus Alvarez and is afforded to dig deeper into the character.
While no specific air date has been given, look for ‘Mayans MC’ to air in late summer/early fall.
