Nike Created Amazing Custom Shoes Based on LAIKA Films for SDCC

One of my favorite things to experience at Comic-Con are the LAIKA press junkets with the stars that voice over these stop-motion animated films each year. The talent that goes into creating these amazing works of art is nothing short of breath taking. This year LAIKA will be doing more than just holding panels they are creating an interactive experience.

Oscar®-winning animation studio LAIKA, creators of Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings, brings its pop-up exhibit The LAIKA Experience to the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter from Friday, July 14th to Sunday, July 23rd. Admission is free to the exhibit, which will feature props, puppets, monsters, and sets from LAIKA’s award-winning films as well as fan art, a photo/GIF booth with LAIKA characters.

In addition to the experience there will also be daily drawings for a pair of Nike’s LAIKA-themed shoes designed by Tinker Hatfield. The custom shoes are based on LAIKA films like Coraline, Boxtrolls, Kubo and Paranorman and they look amazing. Check out each pair of kicks below.
