Everywhere you look, there’s either an existing streaming service or a soon to be released streaming service, trying to win you over. The various forms of original content are supposed to push and pull you. Often making it hard to choose which side to align with. Until now they also didn’t have a product that was being backed by Steven Spielberg. His Amazing Stories is getting a revamp, coming to Apple TV+ and we’ve got just the trailer to prove it.
If that wasn’t enough to grab your attention, here’s the official synopsis:
“From visionary executive producers Steven Spielberg and Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz, this reimagining of the classic anthology series transports everyday characters into worlds of wonder, possibility, and imagination.”
Admittedly, they’re playing this one close to the best. Peppering in some familiar faces, as reason to check out the 5 stories. Yet not a lot of context for the stories themselves. Heck, all they had to do was show the late great Robert Forster and we thought about searching for our credit card. At the same time, there’s a strange unevenness to this. Unfinished special effects seem present and while they could be due to budgetary constraints, this doesn’t seem like the show for that.
What did you all think of the trailer? Is there enough content to get you excited? Are you big fans of the original series that aired in the 80’s? Be sure to let us know down in the comments. For now, see which one your friends is going to plunk down on Apple TV+, so you have a way to watch this. Maybe buy them a drink or two so they’ll invite you over to watch each of the 5 episodes. Amazing Stories premiers on March 6.
