Netflix finally dropped the much anticipated trailer for Marvel’s The Punisher. It is nothing short of amazing.
Fresh off the heels of Marvel’s The Defenders, Netflix looks to score huge again. We’ve seen the damage and carnage that The Punisher is capable of, thanks to his auspicious introduction in Marvel’s Daredevil. Now we start to get the details to fill in the gray areas.
The trailer, eerily backed by an acoustic-turned-metal version of Metallica’s famous song ‘One’, takes us through the formative events that turned Frank Castle into a vigilante and begins to showcase his unrelenting vengeance.
Netflix has been elusive in regards to providing a release date for The Punisher, going so far as to faux-redact the timer shown at the end of the trailer, providing only 2017 as a date for release. Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) seems to have found an incredible role to make his own, and I for one, cannot wait to see what’s in store.
