With a constant output of original programming, that seems to add a dozen shows every week, it can be difficult to tell when a new season of a tv show will drop on Netflix. Thankfully the streaming giant released a short teaser today for its animated comedy Big Mouth earlier today. While not much is gleaned from the video, it nonetheless serves as a reminder of the series sense of humor.

A teaser that merely teases the return of a show? Without footage from the upcoming season? That’s almost downright daring! Kudos to Netflix for revealing the release date for Big Mouth‘s second season in such a simple way. It looks like everyone is back again and up to their old antics. Coach Steve is still the saddest education professional around. The Hormone Monsters are still reeking havoc and Jay is still gross as ever. There’s poop jokes, questionable artistry skills and vulgarity galore, crammed into less than 90 seconds. Oh, and the show is coming back as of October 5th. That’s the most pertinent key.

In addition to the returning voice talents of Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein, Big Mouth has two big names joining the cast. Gina Rodriguez plays Gina (go figure), a new student who throws the social hierarchy for a loop, as the first seventh grader to develop breasts. David Thewlis, on the other hand, portrays The Shame Wizard, who, just as it sounds, terrorizes the young teens by exposing their innermost shame. In what is sure to provide a decent share of awkward moments, he’s also the mortal enemy of The Hormone Monster.

Those who slept on the 1st season of Big Mouth should catch up as soon as possible. You are missing out on one highly entertaining show. Sure there is a high dose of vulgar humor that permeates the show, but its done in order to talk about some sensitive and awkward subject matter. Better yet, it’s the kind of property that makes sure to give box sexes their equal due. Because it there’s a series of trials and tribulations that makes everyone uncomfortable, it’s puberty.

What do you all think? Is Big Mouth a solid mix of gross out humor and sweet introspection? Or is it mindless crass we shouldn’t bother ourselves with? Do you think Coach Steve will ever find love? Sound off below and prepare yourself for an onslaught of insane animated images when the next 10 episodes drop on October 5th.
