By the power of Grayskull we have a director?
Possibly.
David S. Goyer, story writer of Christopher Nolan‘s mid-2000’s Batman films, is the latest person to be thrown into the mix regarding the highly anticipated reboot of Masters of the Universe.
The film, rumors circling as far back as 2009, has been set for a release date by Sony Pictures for December 18th 2019.
With what has been a revolving door of names set to direct the project, we appear to have more than capable lead for the franchise that was spawned from the Mattel toy line and subsequent animated series that ran from 1983 through 1985.
While the original 1987 Masters of the Universe film starring Dolph Lundgren‘s He-Man opposite Frank Langella‘s Skeletor is widely considered a cult favorite, it did very little to bring in huge box office numbers.
The original story of He-Man pits him and his friends in the typical good-versus-bad struggle to defend the realm of Eternia and the secrets of Castle Grayskull from Skeletor and his band of evil underlings.
Do you think Goyer is a good choice? Could we potentially see a darker, more melancholic He-Man than previously portrayed? Let us know what you think in the comment section! YOU HAVE THE POWER!
