Jamie Lee Curtis has now joined the star-studded cast for Rian Johnson’s 2019 film, Knives Out.

Curtis is currently enjoying a career resurgence with the recent reboot of the Halloween franchise. With her in the leading role, the 2018 edition of Halloween grossed over $75 million over the weekend. There is still no update on a Freaky Friday remake, but the news on Knives Out is almost as exciting.

Before Rian Johnson directed the most polarizing Star Wars film of all time, he was known for making innovative crime films like Brick and Looper. Now that he has a break from Porgs and shirtless Kylo Ren, he  can focus on writing and direct Knives Out. Which is reported to be some kind of murder mystery. The size of Curtis’ role is currently unknown, but she has joined one of the most intriguing and eclectic casts of recent memory. Johnson has already recruited other household names such as Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Michael Shannon and Don Johnson. He’s also hired two rising stars, in Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You) and Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049).

Johnson has completed the first task of creating a great whodunit: assemble an interesting cast of characters. The recent hiring of Curtis, the amazing cast shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Who knows, if Hunter Killer makes a splash this weekend we might see casting news involving Gerard Butler.
