The drama series about a family wrapped up in a cult-like religious movement has been renewed for a second season. The Universal Television series created by Jessica Goldberg (“Parenthood”) wraps its 10-episode first season on May 25.
The series stars Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan as a married couple struggling to hold their family together after one of them begins to have grave doubts about the movement. Hugh Dancy plays the charismatic leader who is intent on solidifying his power as the group’s second-generation spiritual force.
The renewal was expected, given the show’s solid reception from critics and the buzz created by its provocative premise.
Goldberg is exec producer of the series with Jason Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.
Hulu confirmed the renewal on the same day the streaming service plans to unveil its 2016-17 season programming plans at its upfront presentation in New York on Wednesday.
