CW shows will be arriving on Netflix eight days after the season finale airs in a new licensing deal between the two parties. This is huge news for subscribers who ditched cable for streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. No longer will they have to wait months for their favorite shows to hit the streaming service.
The new deal begins in the 2016-2017 television year and includes new shows, Frequency, No Tomorrow and Riverdale. And includes the most popular shows on the CW, such as The Flash, Arrow, Jane the Virgin, Supernatural, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, Legends of Tomorrow and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It’ll also include the new season of former CBS series Supergirl whose second season will air on the CW.
“Netflix members in the U.S. love the great lineup of series from the CW, and we are thrilled to extend the relationship and bring those shows to our members exclusively now, just eight days after their season finales,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. “This is a great step forward with a valued network partner to give fans exactly what they want, when and how they want it.”
