If you’ve been following the site for a bit, you know we love Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. With a rich set of characters, wonderful art direction and a twisty tale, it’s easy to be won over by.  It’s not just us though, as the show has taken the world by storm. Rather surprising when you realize we’ve only gotten the first part of season one, so far. As well as a fantastic holiday special! Which makes the news the Netflix has renewed the show, a big cause for celebration.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also released a statement, expressing his gratitude and excitement surrounding the above announcement.

“Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television, and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch. And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”

Now, if that wording in the video seems odd at all, it’s easily explainable. For the past year the Netflix has been experimenting slightly with a new viewing format. Select “original programing” has their season split into two parts. Likely to replicate the fall and spring breaks for cable shows. Not every show gets this treatment, instead targeting ones with over a 10 episode order. In the age of binging shows, this seems like a weird decision, but if it means more shows getting second, or third seasons, we’re all for it. As a result, Sabrina gets extended for another 16 episodes. To be doled out in 8 episode parts. It’s less than season 1 got, but again, great otherwise.

What do you think about this, dear reader? Are you smitten with the more episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Reserving judgement for once season one fully  concludes? Any theories on how things will tie up? Still dragging your feet on checking out the holiday special? Be sure to let us know in the comments. In the meantime we’ll be over here twiddling our thumbs. Anxiously awaiting the release of Part 2, on April 5, 2019.
