#4. Firefly (Fox)
This is the space show we all never knew we needed. Involving the renegade crew of the Serenity, Nathan Fillion as the captain of this ship and what a captain he was.
There have been massive campaigns for it’s revival and since most of the people involved are still alive today. We have had a motion picture and a comic book series, but what we need is a revival.
Give us good sci-fi or give us death!
#3. Vinyl (HBO)
After achieving a cult-like following, HBO cancelled Vinyl after just one season! Despite getting an 8/10 on IMDB and 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It featured the music scene in 1970s New York awash in sex and drugs, but rock ‘n’ roll is giving way to an era of punk, disco and hip-hop. Desperately trying to navigate the changing landscape is American Century Records founder and president Richie Finestra, whose passion for music and discovering talent has gone by the wayside. With American Century on the verge of being sold, a life-altering event rekindles Finestra’s professional fire, but it may leave his personal life in ruins.
Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter are among the creators of the hourlong drama series, which stars Bobby Cannavale (HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) as Finestra. Netflix needs to breath some new life into this series pronto!
