GIRL POWER! The Rise of the Female Superhero

2. Scarlet Witch – Avengers: Age of Ultron

Portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the MCU, Scarlet Witch embodies the powerful young woman archetype with limitless potential. A character who can easily best The Vision is someone to watch and Olsen has done superbly personifying a sometimes meek, always powerful Wanda Maximoff. Audiences are excited to see how her story will progress and she will no doubt be given larger and more pivotal roles in the movies to come.

1. Wonder Woman – Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

The picture says it all: Wonder Woman saved the day! A bright spot in a overly-hyped film, Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman not only saved the Dark Knight AND the Son of Krypton, electricity shot through the audience the second she appeared on screen. With the Wonder Woman stand alone film slated to be released in 2017, the sky is truly the limit for Diana Prince and her alter ego, Wonder Woman. If her appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was any inclination of what is to come, we are in for one hell of a ride with her character arc!

Are you bummed we didn’t include Kitty Pride, Supergirl or Jubilee? Sound off in the comments and let Boom Howdy know! Excelsior true believers!
