6 Terrific TV Shows You Should Watch This Summer

Wayward Pines (Wednesdays on Fox)

Night Shyamalon’s sci-fi thriller jumped the shark midway through its first season, so you don’t have to worry about it happening now during its second season. With that pressure gone, I’m actually enjoying it. Jason Patric replaces Matt Dillon, but his character is the least interesting one on the show.

It’s all ridiculous and may suffer the Under the Dome syndrome eventually, but during what’s turning out to be a steamy, hot summer, it’s perfectly cool.

Mr. Robot (Returns Wednesday, July 13 on USA Network)

Its tone was a surprise for the normally light and airy USA Network, but season two promises to be even darker. Or so I’ve heard.  I haven’t actually watched Mr. Robot, but its reputation is so stellar that I need to binge watch season one before it returns.

Rami Malek plays a hacker who suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression who is recruited by Christian Slater’s anarchist, “Mr. Robot,” to join his group of hacktivists.
