Enough with the teasers. Enough with poster reveals. It’s time for something everyone can get excited about: giant monsters fighting each other. That’s right, there’s a brand spaking new Godzilla II: King of the Monsters trailer. We’re just going to get out for the way so you can view it already.

I’m pretty sure my childlike sense of wonder just manifested before me, in order to give me a high five. That’s how great this trailer is. There’s so much going on that it could easily just be construed as chaos. It doesn’t matter. Giant monsters are battling and destroying everything in their path. Not even Dunkin’ Donuts signs stand a chance. Things are right in the world. Outside of the calamity, a striking array of colors are on display. Almost any instance of the footage above would make for a stellar poster. If all goes according to plan, director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat) could have something special on his hands.

In the midst of all the insanity on display, the remnants of a plot are trying to eek through. Should that be your cup of tea, here’s the official synopsis to help clue you in on things:

“The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”

Since the powers that be won’t just allow us a movie where monsters clobber each other, a human component is still a part of things. Even when that’s the element most people criticized in the 2014 film. It’s nice to see Thomas Middleditch selling using Godzilla as a weapon, rather than cell phone coverage. Ken Watanabe may only get one line, but he knows how to get the most out of it. Even David Strathairn and CCH Pounder pop up for a second. Poor Millie Bobby Brown though, can’t keep clear of Godzilla’s path. Maybe they become best friends when all is said and done? Anything’s possible.

What do you all think? Are you grinning with delight by what’s on display in that trailer? Have you hand-waived away this movie, awaiting Godzilla vs Kong instead? Were you a big fan of the previous Godzilla film? Give us your opinion in the space provided below. This has all the making of the biggest event of the summer. Mark your calendars for May 31st, when Godzilla II: King of the Monsters roars into theaters. Till then here’s newest poster for the movie, reminding you who the baddest Kaju on the planet is.
